I’m David Cain, author of Career Hacks Insider. 

First a bit about myself. Then I’ll explain what you’ll get from this newsletter.

I’ve had two careers: business lawyer, then early stage tech startup sales leader. 

I found jobs and worked full-time at three law firms and nine tech companies (ranging from six months to seven years at each).

I also recruited, interviewed and hired job candidates at three of those companies.

I’m currently career coaching and mentoring over a dozen students and recent graduates. I’ve been doing this work as a volunteer since November 2023 (see my LinkedIn for recommendations I’ve received). 

Students I’ve worked with have landed internships and jobs at small and large companies in software, robotics, accounting, insurance, and biotech (including Fortune 500 firms).  

My point of view starts with this idea: finding a job is a sales and marketing project. And with over twenty years of experience doing sales and marketing work for Silicon Valley startups, I’ve got a few secrets to share.
